A week dominated by golf, as usual, with a bit of gardening and vote casting…
…in the Australian federal election.
Thank goodness we managed not to vote in Trump-lite and still hopeful my division might be led by an independent (although the race is very tight and won’t be decided until all the preferences are in).
Reading:
My re-reading of The Traveler’s Gate Trilogy continues. I’ve still not done anything more with my non-fiction reading options.
Golf:
There was a dedicated golf post this week, and there’ll be one next week too. Another lesson means different things to think about (but also, as you’ll see, maybe fewer things on the list)!
Exercise:
Physio was cancelled, but I did two good home sessions. I continued to work on pull ups, using the door frame bar at home to build my ability as best I could.
No running this week, but I did make sure to do some walking away from the golf course (including to vote, on to the shop, and back home again).
Food:
Food’s been good, but I had a couple of missed lunches, so I think I’ve reduced my protein intake (and that means I’ve been feeling hungry). I’ve been getting indigestion again (sometimes that’s related to not eating lunch, in part because I end up eating more at night).
Garden:
I cut back the lower level bushes under our screening trees at the end of the pool. I think there’s still some more trimming to do there, but I did a pretty good job. I sorted out the bird baths again, but I’ve not yet got around to watering my balcony pots or the indoor plants. It’s survival of the drought tolerant at my place!
Adventure:
It was open studios weekend this week and I visited quite a few different art hubs and home studios. I didn’t take photos, just made sure I took the time to look and chat with a few people. A lot of the art wasn’t really to my taste, tbh. I missed out on seeing my friend’s work this time, which is a pity, but I knew that venue would be really busy (and I’d only left myself one afternoon to get around quite a few spread out places).
Sewing:
The thinking and not doing continues!
Three ideas:
- Practise my new golf shot setup and grip with alignment markers on the range
- Begin with the block method on the trouser sewing project (carried over from last week)
- Keep thinking about our plans for NZ later this year (carried over from last week)
I can feel myself losing momentum with these weeknotes… but I’ll try to keep writing them (even if they are, like this one is, late)!
