Started slow, but ended stronger…
…getting stuff done (small steps) and cooking good food.
Cover image: Golf at HillView (Classic and Lakeside) on holiday Monday (ie the day after this weeknote ends) where I played amazing for 9 and then ok for 9 (but the second 9 was new to me), more on that next week.

It’s happened before. The major service resulted in a car with a lovely smooth running engine…
…but then we took it for a longer spin and it became clear something else wasn’t right!

Still avoiding things I don’t want to do (eg tidying my room and cupboard)…
…but the apathies lifted a bit this week as I watered the plants, filled the bird baths and even managed to wing-SUP again (although I was trounced by the swell).

February is moving quickly, but I’m not really getting much done…
…which isn’t too much of a problem, but means I’m surrounded by plants that need tending and rooms that need tidying.

OMG the raven family is on the wing and ready to rumble…
…they’re honing their flying skills, learning to “sing”, playing on the roof (in their hobnailed boots) and, presumably, stealing food from the chickens next door, etc).

We have had a few red-tailed black cockatoo visits for dinner now…
…and I’m excited to see them each time, although they make a hell of a mess under the tree with lots of small branches falling as they eat.

Spent some money this week buying a graphic novel that was a PhD thesis and a great piece of art (both pictured in the image for this week)…
…the first because Unflattening by Nick Sousanis sounds like a fascinating exploration of how words and images might be “inextricably linked” as “equal partners in meaning-making”, the second because it was the first piece of landscape art I’ve seen in ages that really called to me.

A week dominated by golf, as usual, with a bit of gardening and vote casting…
…in the Australian federal election.
Thank goodness we managed not to vote in Trump-lite and still hopeful my division might be led by an independent (although the race is very tight and won’t be decided until all the preferences are in).

A better week than last week, with a lot of smoke towards the end, but also lower temperatures…
…which meant I did get a few more things done this week (as well as playing quite a bit of golf at the course, pictured in the evening light for this week’s cover image).
