Lots of festival socialising this week, car service and almost a whole week off golf…

…so got quite a bit of plant maintenance done.

  • Serviced the car somewhere local and took the cover image on the walk back home. A view over the rainbow arch of painted shipping containers, river, Stirling Bridge and our tall tree on the horizon to the left.
  • Physio weights session was good, but did make me quite sore in the arms and chest.
  • Continued mobility training, reducing the reps but adding an extra session towards the end of the week. Not sure if the good feels and improvements in mobility are building, but I’ll keep going.
  • Too hot for golf on Wednesday and decided not to play Friday so I had more energy to enjoy Perth Festival events.
  • Played dreadful golf with D for the team competition on Sunday! Was great off the tee for 3 out of 4 par threes, but couldn’t drive the ball anywhere else.
  • Friday dinner at La Cholita. Great food, drink and service. Followed by a Perth Festival showing of Le Nor, a faux foreign film live on stage; more theatre than film. I’ve seen this before (in 2019) but it was just as good the second time.
  • Saturday dinner at Andaluz bar and tapas, which was excellent. Great tapas, not sure about the drinks because I was driving. Then we took part in The Booster Protocol, “part performance, part role playing adventure”, which was fun. It might have been better to take individual journeys, but I did feel safer in a small group in the dark of Perth CBD.
  • Bird(s) of the week: assorted garden birds including a very friendly willy wagtail on the balcony.

I’m not feeling like a good golfer right now. Don’t know if that feeling came on before the (almost) week off, or after. It’s a frustrating game. I just need to reinforce the positive, committed feeling for each shot every time I play. Make a decision. Play the shot. Deal with the result.
