The week started well, but I’ve been feeling tired a lot of the time…
…(my notes contain the word “dead” more than once). Meh!
- Cover image: Wind at Safety Bay for Wing-SUP session. On the water a bit after 1.30 pm, but could have done with being there at about 11 am.
- Played golf five days again this week, stayed positive and had fun.
- The week started with nine holes at Hillview (Classic), which I crushed at 6 shots over par (way better than my handicap).
- 18 hole competitions this week were ok, but I lost a bit of form (in the heat on Wednesday and the wind both Wednesday and Friday).
- Golf practice sessions have been good, but unable to take it on course.
- Had a few good meals this week, with a bit of planning in advance making it easier, plus D cooked twice!
- Went out for Thai down the road.
- Watered all the plants (a good thing because it was very hot mid week).
- Continued the Golf Recovery tiny experiment, but lack of consistent planned action means it’s mainly turned into observation. What have I noticed?
- It’s difficult to recover quickly from a round of golf.
- Protein before and after may help, because I did feel better in the evening for cards when I boosted protein intake on Wednesday (but this didn’t carry into a good night’s sleep).
- Vanilla protein supplement is helpful after weights and golf.
- Add to greek yoghurt, milk or water (fluid first then protein powder) and mix well.
- Made high protein bites with almond meal, vanilla protein power, peanut butter, lemon juice and zest. Odd flavour combination, edible but not great. (Original recipe used blitzed dates to bind the mixture, replaced with peanut butter because it was the best thing available, dates almost certainly would taste better!)
- Good wing-SUP at Safety Bay when it wasn’t too windy (but should have gone earlier for fewer gusts and less chop). A bit anxious out there on my own. Finding it easier to stand up and turn around even in choppy water. The new roofrack is excellent.
- More tiny experiments are planned (both to do with reducing anxiety).
- Bird of the week: raven back in the tree.
