We have had a few red-tailed black cockatoo visits for dinner now…

…and I’m excited to see them each time, although they make a hell of a mess under the tree with lots of small branches falling as they eat.

Reading:

I’ve just finished The Traveler’s Gate Trilogy! Yay! And I haven’t yet checked what I’ve got to read next on my Kindle (but I’m pretty sure it’ll be SF). I do have a paperback of The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley and I think I might concentrate on that for the next day or so.

Golf:

I’ve continued to practice and played three competitions across three days this week. Two of them went well, but my away game at a course I’d not played before was… challenging. I could not drive the ball most of the time. It got it my head, so just got worse as the round went on. Never mind. We had fun. (It was a charity day, so we were fed well and had nice company.) I let myself get cold, which was part of the issue. I also had a bad headache the whole way round (maybe related to being cold, but more likely just the early start and a bit of extra anxiety being somewhere new).

Exercise:

Physio was good and I did a home session which went well too. I need to check the skiing book to see if it suggests any particular exercises that we can incorporate into my circuits. It might not, other than the obvious ones, but I will check.

No running.

Food:

We had basic meals this week, and I begun to take things easy on the run up to my restricted diet and fasting for the medical test I’m having next week.

Garden:

The cockatoos are the only ones doing any gardening (and they don’t clear up after themselves, so that’s my job)!

Adventure:

I went to Curtin to pick up my 30x30 artwork. It’s so great. I’ll post a picture of it hanging at home once I’ve worked out where to put it. At the moment it’s on the shelf in the living room, because I love it so much I want to be able to see it all the time! I met the artist when I went to pick it up, so had a chance to tell Jessica how much I love this type of landscape, which captures the feel and colours of a place, without being exactingly detailed or at all photographic.

Sewing:

Nope. Also limited tidying => limited additions to the mending pile.

Three ideas:

  • Carry on hitting the driver to get a better feel (need to keep this up to try to work out how to sync myself up on course however I’m feeling)
  • Keep up the tidying and cleaning - which does seem to make me feel better
  • Take a look at the skiing book for exercises

I got all the health preparation stuff sorted. Filled the forms, pre-paid the things and got ready for my dietary requirements. Once I’ve got the test out of the way I’m going to feel a lot better.
