Mind the gap

A lot of good things happened in September, October and November…

…but I didn’t get around to writing any weeknotes. In part that was because I was away quite a bit without my laptop. As for the New Zealand trip, this meant I’d have been playing catchup (and I didn’t enjoy writing the New Zealand posts that much, although I’m glad they exist as a useful reminder for me in the future). Here, instead, are some bullet points about the three missing months, just so they exist in my record.

  • Cover image: a view up to a gap in the trees somewhere near Smiths Beach.

September

  • Started a trial bullet journal (which is another reason the blog fell by the wayside).
  • Attended my first graduation in Australia, having missed both of my own, for a much-loved long-term (part-time) PhD student.
  • Took a hired caravan for a short camping trip in Dwellingup (which was stressful in quite a few ways, but broadly successful).

October

  • Tried Tapping as an antidote to future anxiety following the panic attack I had when trying to help D reverse park the caravan.
  • Smiths Beach with the cards girls, where we did actually play cards as well as eating some great food and taking hundreds of photographs of wild flowers.
  • Picked up the caravan and headed north to Exmouth via Port Denison and Hamelin Pool.
  • Exmouth was great - but I have no idea what I was doing most of the time in October, mostly just chillin’, maybe attempting to windsurf?

November

  • Exmouth continued - and I know I’d done and/or was doing a fair bit of snorkelling, attempted windsurfing (not much fun) and winging on the stand-up-paddleboard (much more fun).
  • Returned home to Perth via Carnarvon (because there aren’t many other places to break the journey), Kalbarri (because we’d never stayed there and wanted to see the coast and national park) and Cervantes (where we actually went to see The Pinnacles for the first time ever).
  • Played in the golf club championships where I made it to the semi-final for B-grade (ie the weekend), but crashed and burned big time at that point.

A very brief roundup, but I think it captures some of the most important things! When I wasn’t travelling I played golf, went to physio, did weights and worried a lot about packing!
